Welcome to our missionary blog!
Hello! We are Rick and Kim McCloskey, otherwise known as Elder and Sister McCloskey, and we've been called to serve for 12 months in the Taiwan, Taipei Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We hope this blog will be a way for you to get to know us and to follow along on our journey as we get to know and serve the people of Taiwan.
Although the title of this blog is "A Good Day in Taipei" this photo was taken of us on our porch in Provo, Utah six days before we fly to Taiwan. We were supposed to leave in July, but the worldwide pandemic postponed our original plans for a few months, so you can just imagine how excited we are to finally have the tickets in hand, so to speak.
That's me in the bottom left-hand corner along with some of the teachers and fellow missionaries I studied with during my online training through the Missionary Training Center. Elder McCloskey joined me for some of the training as well. We have both had a Mandarin tutor for the past several months to help prepare us. With all of this great training, we feel we are ready to go forth and serve. Although it will be hard to leave our family and friends, we know this is the Lord's plan for us and we feel His love as we prepare to leave.
